The artisan talent of urban and rural parishes have its participation in the fifth edition of the craft fair ‘Textures, Colors and Flavors” that takes place from Thursday 12th, starting at 14:00; Friday 13, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15, from 10:00 to 19:00, in the Centre of Bicentennial Events.
The fair, organized by the Municipality of Quito through Quito tourism, is the most important and varied fair of handcrafted products of the Metropolitan District of Quito. There are 140 artisans of Quito, Imbabura, Azuay and Manabí who will have a place to exhibit their creations. The entrance has a cost of $1 for the general public, and children and older adults do not pay.
Among the novelties of this new edition of the fair is the participation of artisans ‘Hands in the round’ with their crafts, using techniques and inherited knowledge of the Quito sculpture school, with carved wood, wrought iron, and imagery.
There will also be eight craftsmen who work with various products such as honey, hats, textiles, chocolates and wooden toys. Last year the display counted with the participation of 125 exhibitors, producers and institutions related to the artisan work and with an attendance of 8,000 people in three days.
